The Conseil québécois des arts médiatiques was founded on June 19, 1998. CQAM brings together, represents and promotes independent professional artists, cultural workers and organizations dedicated to the media arts. The discipline of media arts includes digital arts and independent film arts.

The tasks

The CQAM is looking for a Deputy Director to assist the Executive Director in managing the day-to-day activities of the group. Under the responsibility of the general management, the person in charge will perform the following tasks:

Member Services

  • Develop and provide services to members
  • Set up and coordinate activities for members
  • Manage memberships
  • Prepare and execute the annual recruitment plan

Communications

  • Execute the communications plan
  • Writing: press releases, newsletters, social media
  • Manage the website (WordPress): update and information

Representation

Qualities and knowledge required

  • Good understanding of the issues facing the media arts community
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several files simultaneously
  • Very good organizational skills and judgment
  • Excellent spoken and written French. Good knowledge of English.
  • Experience in the media arts field (audio art, film, video, digital arts) an asset

Training

University undergraduate degree in arts practice, communications or arts administration, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
