The Ville de Montréal and the Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC) invite professional artists to apply for the 2018 edition of the Prix Pierre-Ayot and the Prix Louis-Comtois.
The Prix Pierre-Ayot‘s objectives are to support and promote excellence in new visual arts production in Montreal, to foster the dissemination of work by young artists in Montreal’s galleries and artist-run centers and to recognize the efforts of these cultural venues to support artists aged 35 and under. The winner will be awarded a grant of $ 5,000 and a budget of $ 2,500 for the organization of a solo exhibition in Montréal. The Ville de Montréal will also acquire an artwork by the recipient.
The Prix Louis-Comtois aims to highlight the quality the work of a mid-career artist, and to support and promote the work of an artist who will have distinguished themselves in the field of contemporary art in Montréal over the past fifteen years. The award includes a grant of $ 7,500 and a budget of $ 2,500 for the organization of a solo exhibition in Montréal.
