An event not to be missed for filmmakers and documentary lovers! Nadine Gomez (The Horse Palace, Metro, Exarcheia, The song of birds) will discuss her experiences, artistic approaches, working philosophies, and her influences.
An UQÀM graduate, Nadine Gomez completed a master’s degree in communication. Since then, urban issues have fascinated her and are serving as a filter for reflecting about the world. Launched in 2012, The Horse Palace, her first feature-length documentary, questions transformations in the urban space. In 2015, she presents Métro, a short documentary essay that takes a fresh look at Montreal’s underground network and its unique and imposing architecture. Her second feature film – Exarcheia, the song of birds – shot in Athens in the Exarcheia district, was released in theaters this year. The director also develops different projects (TV, podcasts, unique works, web) while sitting on the Montreal Arts Council film committee and the DOC Québec executive committee.
