Labsessions #17 – Offers

Emerging artists rewarded!

Following the call for proposals launched this fall 2019, emerging artists Alessia Signorino, Isabelle Charette, Amélie Charbonneau, Nina Parent (Take Heed), Guillaume Côté and Guillaume Campion (Écho) and Timothy Thomasson (Slowness and The Digital Moving Image) received support from the digital arts community after presenting their project at the 17th Labsessions held at OBORO last November.

The 8 organizations provided constructive recommendations and comments for each project. In addition, artists will receive specific support from the following organizations:

CONSEIL QUÉBÉCOIS DES ARTS MÉDIATIQUES (CQAM)
An annual membership offered to each participant as well as consulting support.

OBORO
For the Take Heed project, OBORO offers a shooting day in their studio (technical support not included).
For Slowness and The Digital Moving Image project, OBORO offers a consultation with Aaron Pollard to help Timothy Thomasson develop a proposal for distributors.

STUDIO XX
A one-year membership to Studio XX is offered to each artist (value of $50), that gives access to the laboratory and equipment, on loan or rental.
In addition, Take Heed project will benefit from a loan of space and equipment for the testing of a prototype, with consultation and networking.
Finally, Studio XX offers a consultation in mediation with Guillaume Côté and Guillaume Campion (Écho).

SOCIÉTÉ DES ARTS TECHNOLOGIQUES (SAT)
For each artist, SAT offers one free workshop on its SAT Campus Perfectionnement program as well as a pair of tickets for an immersive show.

EASTERN BLOC
For Take Heed project, Eastern Bloc offers the 4 artists free access to their Laboratory and its resources.

VIDÉOGRAPHE
For Slowness and The Digital Moving Image project, Vidéographe offers a mentoring service valued at $960 and a creative support service valued at $260.

We thank the partners, as well as the artists, for their participation. For now 8 years, the Labsessions meetings have allowed several emerging artists to showcase their work and see their project produced and/or disseminated among partner organizations. Don’t miss the next call for projects that will be launched this winter 2020!
