An audiovisual performance combining the compositions of Guillaume Côté and Alexis Langevin-Tétrault with the astonishing visuals of Dave Gagnon.
Using direct electroacoustic tools to develop a unique language, sound artists Alexis Langevin-Tétrault and Guillaume Côté base their discourse on the dichotomy between noise and tonality in a structured but living musical form, at the limits of noise and ambient music. The performance is both defined by the use of fixed and improvised sounds by the addition of modular synthesizers modified in real time.
The performance is supported by the visuals of digital artist Dave Gagnon. By recovering the various sound signals, he disturbs and modifies his interventions in real time – moire, shading, anomalies – creating a synergy between the art forms through displaying a graphical and luminous return of the audio content. The visual is displayed on a unique multi-media device featuring reflective boxes designed specifically for this project; standing halfway between installation and live video.
