Clark : Call for proposals | Poste Audio

2020-2021 PROGRAMMING
DEADLINE : APRIL15, 2020

Centre CLARK is currently inviting artists, collectives and curators to submit proposals for audio works for its Poste Audio annual programming. Proposals may be adapted for our listening station (located in CLARK’s vestibule), in the space adjacent to the library. No project requiring one of the exhibit rooms will be accepted*.

Many presentation formats are welcome and can go beyond the regular spatial arrangements (that is, an iPod and headset placed on a low table), as long as they’re adapted to Poste Audio’s space and don’t interfere with the main exhibits. Projects can invest the small “treehouse” space above the listening station, use specialized broadcasting devices in the Poste Audio space, take the shape of podcasts, etc. The selection committee welcomes all forms of sound art that emerge from contemporary art practices. However, given the nature and context of Poste Audio, the broadcasting of videos or other visual material isn’t possible.

CLARK offers a $300 exhibition fee to present the work for a length of 5 weeks. The center also offers installation assistance, 16 hours of manual labour for the construction of wood-based presentation mounts and access to Atelier CLARK, if needed.

All applicants are required to fill this online form (festival zone) with the following elements:
— a paragraph describing your artistic process (150 words maximum);
— a brief project description (250 words maximum);
— audio material: Internet link (Soundcloud, Google Drive, or other) to the proposed project or to previous projects relating to sound art;
— visual material in JPG or PDF format, if necessary (for example, in the instance of a specific presentation display*);
— A CV or short biography (pdf);
— a list of technical requirements and any other pertinent information, if needed.

Deadline : April 15, 2020
