Merry Wafwana & Alice Bernard
Canada, 2018, 50:00, English/French, English subtitles
This documentary proposes a breach into anarchist imaginaries.
Filmed at the Montreal Anarchist Bookfair, the documentary follows the intimate paths of various speakers and looks into the methods of action they propose.
Belgian of Congolese origin, Merry Wafwana obtained a Master’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Cinema and Screenwriting at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. She then moved to Barcelona to work as a director with Otoxo productions and broadcasts a first documentary on Catalan television. Inspired by the anarchist movement in Barcelona, she became more interested in this philosophical movement and proposed a video project at the Montreal Anarchist Bookfair.
Holder of a Bachelor in International Studies at the Université de Montréal, Alice Bernard is interested in the dynamics of social justice and power relations in political communities. Interested in migratory issues, she made a short film about the situation of Syrian refugees in Turkey in 2013.
