A visual artist, musician, producer, artistic director and interdisciplinary artist from Ottawa, Blake Hargreaves has been travelling since 2016 to record various musical performances on pipe organs in Canada and around the world. With a particular focus on body-based improvisation techniques, this instrument allows the artist to explore new musical approaches, even spiritual ones.
For his residency, Hargreaves will work with DAïMôN to build a free web archive, with audio extracts, visual documents and journal excerpts to invite the public to enter the universe of this flâneur, thus creating an intimate and interactive media archeology. Spread out on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook platforms, this virtual journal will take spectators to different time-tables and locations, from one pipe organ to another, from one musical improvisation to another, all tinged by the subjectivity of the artist.
